Word Filled Wednesday

Job 41:1-10
1 "Can you pull in the leviathan with a fishhook or tie down his tongue with a rope? 2 Can you put a cord through his nose or pierce his jaw with a hook? 3 Will he keep begging you for mercy? Will he speak to you with gentle words? 4 Will he make an agreement with you for you to take him as your slave for life? 5 Can you make a pet of him like a bird or put him on a leash for your girls? 6 Will traders barter for him? Will they divide him up among the merchants? 7 Can you fill his hide with harpoons or his head with fishing spears? 8 If you lay a hand on him, you will remember the struggle and never do it again! 9 Any hope of subduing him is false; the mere sight of him is overpowering. 10 No one is fierce enough to rouse him. Who then is able to stand against me?

When we toured TELLUS, Cartersville's wonderful new science museum, we enjoyed every part of it. The planetarium show was amazing. The mineral gallery, which was contained in the original Weinman Mineral Museum, felt like going home, but ten times better. The kids' "Big Backyard" area was both fun and educational. But the fossil wing was by far my favorite. It was a beautiful blend of art and science, showcasing ancient fossils in a way that was both mysterious and enlightening. And when I saw the fossil above, the thing that flashed through my mind was "there's the Leviathan!" I could imagine this creature with skin on, fiercely defending whatever watery territory he chose. I wouldn't want to make him angry! And then, I imagine God, as He sees the things we do, and watches us worship everything from "American Idols" to IPods. Do I really want to try and stand against Him? I think I'd rather be on the winning side... and I'd certainly rather that HE be on mine!

Coming by to visit my friend; love your posts! So thankful for God's mercy and grace - allowing you to "shower" :) Wondering what your dad shared about the concentration camp he visited - if you can share that...

Smiling because of you!

Pam,

Your son is blessed to have a mom who is so "into" the things he loves; it gives you many wonderful moments to share together. Think of all those memories you're making that you'll look back on in ten or twenty years. Priceless!
