A thousand words.....

..is something I simply don't have right now. I'm not sure why all of my blog posts seem to be stuck in my head, but I think I need some Braino (which would, of course, be the blogger's version of Draino). Until I can get things unclogged, I'm going to have to resort to using this blog as a place to record what happened in the past week in picture form. Which, to be honest, was the whole reason that I started blogging in the first place; I needed a way to slap down all of the scrapbooking supplies that mocked me on a daily basis. "Take that, you stinking supplies!" I muttered as I pressed the "Create blog" button. "Hahahaha (crazed laugh), I don't need no special cutters. I spit on you, box of stickers. And as for the multitude of matching patterned scrapbook paper? May you never see the light of day!" Somehow, between that point and now, I've veered off on another path entirely, so it's time to get back to basics and put some real life back into the blog. (And, in case you haven't noticed or weren't counting, I'm probably going to end up with a thousand words AND the pictures to go with them; I think the Braino may be working). So take that AGAIN, you smirking supplies; I need your smugness even less than ever!

One night last week, I made teriyaki turkey meatballs with Asian-inspired vegetables. The bug hunter loved them so much that he sat and wrote out a grocery list so I could make them again--SOON! He didn't get it completely right (there were no potatoes; not sure if he imagined them or if he wants them in there next time!), but he did pretty well, all things considered.

A rather large salamander, found in the flower bed next door. Sticky and slimy, just the way the Bug Hunter likes 'em.

Bug Hunter with best school buddy at movie night at school. We watched "Night at the Museum" outdoors on the lawn; I still laugh when I think about the monkey.

Random baby picture from movie night.

"I believe I can fly...."

I just like this picture.

Marshmallow dinosaurs make for a fun pack meeting!

Always wear your helmet when biking--especially when it makes you look this cute!

Rhododendron blooms, or "Why I like the rain".

Bokeh (at least I think it is)

That's all I got for now. Well, except to say that if you haven't been following Angie Smith as she visits India with the Compassion bloggers, then you're missing out on some amazing, heart-breaking, heart-LIFTING, life-changing posts. Go here to read all of her Compassion posts, and be forever changed.

Have a great weekend - no braino required!

Gorgeous pictures! I love the flowers... I need to put some of mine up, too. I always have trouble with pink, not sure how to correct the setting so it comes out better. Beautiful bokeh!! Have a great weekend, Pam.

Loved this post - catching up with you is fun!

Loving the grocery list your son created for you. Is that not the best compliment or what?!?!

And the salamander - not too crazy about all the things boys find so interesting right now (we've had two lizard episodes recently).

And I cannot wait for Itty Bit to be old enough to do the outside movie events - sounds like a blast!

Trying to sweet talk Mr. Daddy into being involved in Scouts - though somehow I get the feeling I might end up being a den mother/helper, LOL.

Terrific B&W picture of Bug Hunter - he is a adorable!

Have a terrific weekend - and pass the Braino please :)
