What I've been doing

Along with the volunteering, and mommy-ing, and wife-ing, and scouting, I did a few other things over the past several days. On Thursday, I babysat the 2 year old daughter of a friend from school. We had a busy day, painting and playing with PlayDoh here at the house. My wonderful neighbor then had us over so her youngest daughter could play with my little snuggly guest.

Isn't she just beautiful?

They jumped on the trampoline....

and then had a little snack.

There was some swinging...

and sliding....

and while Miss M. was still smiling by the end of the day, little C was pretty well pooped. By the time I got out of my driveway taking her back to school to meet up with mommy, she was sound asleep. She's usually running all over the place, and the carline ladies were pretty darn amazed that I wore her out (wasn't me, but I'll take the credit...). It was a very good day.

The next day, I made one of these, because Handsome Hubby turned a milestone birthday. It is nearly gone; thank you, Paula Deen, for a recipe so irresistibly perfect.

The next morning, we woke up to find this in one of the live traps that Bug Hunter sets out. To see what he can catch, you know? Just in case something interesting comes around. And yes, this l'il possum DID qualify as interesting. As soon as he was released, he headed up a tree until we were gone. Bet he had some interesting stories to tell HIS mama!

And finally, I found this old picture (from 2005) of one of the sweet l'il girls next door. It's my latest entry at my photoblog for I Heart Faces! Here's a more recent pic of SweetPea with her big sister, so that you can see how she's grown. She still has those amazing blue eyes, though!

Back to the grind in the morning, but it's been a fun weekend!

Those eyes, those eyes, how do your know so many little girls with the most amazing eyes?!

Love the sweet pix.

Glad you go some little girlie fix :)

You just have to do that some time with all of that testosterone around you :)

You sound busy, productive, and very happy. I like to hear that.

Glad things are going well for you and your family. Couldn't happen to a nicer person.

Except maybe me, of course. :-)

Happy to hear you've had a happy weekend! Possums, cake, cute little girls--now there's nice variety for ya.

I'm afraid that finding a possum in a cage and having to deal with it would NOT make a good weekend for me, but I admire you and the Bug Hunter's adventerous spirits.

The only wildlife in my life right now is one needy little doggy. And I'm good with that!
:-)

I always enjoy your posts.

Love, Becky

Great to see you back blogging! The little girl you watched is a doll. Cake looks yummy but the critter would have to been taken off somewhere else. I am thinking that Bug Hunter and I would not get along to well....

I would want you for a babysitter any day of the week : ) How fun! And your pictures are AWESOME!

Ummmmmmmmmmm, that cake, looks too good for words. OH my GOSH! My mouth is watering. And I am trying to abstain from googling Paula Deens coconut cake but I don't know if I will be able to hold out...
