Word-filled Wednesday

There are so many times when I want to know what the future holds; I want it all to be made clear to me NOW. I want to know the results of the presidential election. I want to know if my father-in-law's scans for bladder cancer will come out clear to give him at least a little reprieve. I want to know how much longer my 73-year old mom will have at least reasonbly good health. I want to know if my son will be able to stay on the old "straight and narrow"; if not, I want to know where he'll stumble so I can be there to catch him when he falls. But God doesn't promise a floodlight, nor does He promise perfect days filled with blue skies and rainbows. He DOES promise that if we stay in His Word, it will guide us past or through each obstacle as we face it. And, He promises in Phil. 4:6-7 that through prayer and thanksgiving, we will have PEACE. And that, for me, is enough.
