"Not Me!" Monday

It's that time again... time to recount all of the things I might NOT have done (and don't want to take credit for!). It's late in the day; the bug hunter and I went to visit my mom in Tennessee and just got back a couple of hours ago. So here goes:

I did NOT go to Walmart last week with a 2-item list and walk out with 32 different things. I have much better self-control than that; that's why my house is always so perfect!

I did NOT accidentally pump after-bath oil into my hand INSTEAD of leave-in conditioner and spread it all through my hair. And I did NOT not realize it until I had already exited the shower, put on my makeup, and took off the towel wrapped around my now greasy, lifeless hair. Of course, I did NOT then dry it, pull it back in a ponytail and go on out the door. No way!

I did NOT wrap a birthday present for a friend, complete with lovely bow, only to remember that I had tucked the card INSIDE the gift, unsigned. And, I did NOT contemplate just leaving the card in there, putting another one on the outside, and feigning ignorance when they opened the gift and found the blank card.

I did NOT give my son the "evil eye" as we stood in line at the funeral home to offer condolences to my cousins because he was excited.... that he would finally get to see a "real dead person". Lovely.

I did NOT allow aforementioned son to keep yet another squirrel, this time a half-grown tree squirrel that he found in the bushes at Nana's. And caught with his bare hands. And I am NOT now having to formula-feed "Boomer" (for Boomerang) because, even though he's furry and half-grown, for some odd reason squirrel babies nurse FOREVER. (and he IS named Boomerang because we put him back in the bushes twice, and both times he ran out and climbed up our legs).

If you need me, I WON'T be on the screen porch with the Esbilac and a syringe, feeding Boomer. Have a great rest of the night! And for more fun-filled "NotMe" Monday! posts, click the button below to go to MckMama's website!

OMG, the dead person thing... that's just too funny... boys! I've got 2 in my life and they just blow me away... my 1 little guy, when his adopted granny died 2years ago, about a month or 6 weeks after, I told him I would take him to her graveside to lay a wreath and get to see the head stone - he only went to the viewing, his mother didn't allow him to go to the funeral.. We get to the graveside, and he says - is grandma still in the treasure chest? I finally figure out what he's talking about, explain what a coffin is for in terms he could understand and then explain to him that we need to poke the sticks on the back of the wreath down into the ground so it doesn't blow away. He's all mr big man gonna handle it himself and heads for the top of the head stone... as he begins to bang the spikes into the ground, I hear him holler "grandma, duck your head so I don't knock you out." there's more to the deal, but I'll have to do a blog post on it sometime.. thanks so much for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment!

I am still crying from laughing so hard at Adam's comment about the dead person. I think it is neat how into animals he is and how accepting mommy is to humor him

Ohhhhhh the dead person thing is the funniest thing I have heard all day. That's such a "boy" comment and makes me totally thankful that I only have a girl!
