Hey, I wish I could write like you. Your blog postings are so introspective and thought-provoking. Mine are just my daily doings.
I loved the posting about the quilt. I can relate to the fact that we often don't really know what our kids are thinking. I was so surprised one day to find out what my kids felt was special about our Christmases in Africa! Certainly not what I had thought they would be!
Did you see the snow globe on my blog? I've had lots of comments on it!
Hi there I just read your comment on April's blog regarding the crackers. They are really easy to make and if you do not find instructions I can send you them. The only bit you can't make is the cracking part which is like a long strip of thick paper which makes a loud bang when the cracker is pulled. I think these can be bought and put inside homemade crackers. When kids make them they never have the cracking bit inside but they are still fun to make and pull. I love your gingerbread house. Best Wishes from England. Lindsay
Hi Pam Those links for making the crackers are great. I hope you have fun making them for your friends next year. I am pleased you liked England when you visited all those years ago. I googled Fairford to see where is was. It is in southern England in the beautiful county of Gloucestershire. We spent a week there a few years ago near a place called Ross-on-Wye. You may have been there. I think you will still find lots of pretty villages with yarn shops and such like around there. I love carverys too. There is one nearby here and we go often. I think the major change to english towns over the past 25 years is all the indoor shopping malls (copied from the US). We also have big retail parks with big stores like Toyrus and eating places such as McDonalds, KFC and Frankie and Bennys. I visited the US (Orlando) in 2006 and I felt at 'home' there too. Everyone was so friendly. We are going again next year. Soon I will be able to say this year! Best Wishes Lindsay
