Learning something new every day

I love my friends, especially when they pass on important information that I would otherwise never see. It isn't quantum physics, but really, isn't it the little stuff that can make or break your day? A friend from elementary/junior/high school (the OTHER Pam) and I have been in touch via email and now Facebook over the past year. I've discovered that she is not only a great photographer; she's also a talented artist. I would have never known that without Facebook, where she's posted pictures of her art. Have I mentioned how much I love Facebook? But I'm digressing here; this post is about a little handy hint that she just passed on to me via email. It's one of those simple things that I NEVER knew. And now, I'm gonna lay it on you. Here goes:

I had to go into the kitchen and check this out for myself. Whoever looks at the end of your aluminum foil box? You know when you try to pull some foil out and the roll comes out of the box. Then you have to put the roll back in the box and start over. The darn roll always comes out at the wrong time.

Well, I would like to share this with you. Yesterday I went to throw out an empty Reynolds foil box and for some reason I turned it and looked at the end of the box. And written on the end it said, Press here to lock end. Right there on the end of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place. How long has this little locking tab been there? I then looked at a generic brand of aluminum foil and it had one, too. I then looked at a box of Saran wrap and it had one too! I can't count the number of times the Saran wrap roll has jumped out when I was trying to cover something up.

I'm sharing this with my friends. I hope I'm not the only person that didn't know about this.

So, did YOU know about this? And if so, what ELSE are you keeping from me?

(and here is a sample of Pam's artwork; didn't I say she was talented?)

Wow...that is certainly news to me! I had no idea and I, too, have had that same problem of the wrap falling out of the box when I'm trying to use it! Great info. and such breathtaking artwork...your friend is sure talented!

Yes, I knew about the ends of the saran wrap, wax paper and aluminum foil. I found that out a couple of years ago when someone else pointed it out.
Hey did you know that about once month or more if possible you need to wash with warm soapy water, your lint trap from your dryer? Over time a invisible film develops and can cause a fire. You can test it out by putting some water over it and see if it comes through.

Your friend is definitly very talented. I sure wish I had a talent of that magnitude kept hidden. :)

Never heard of the aluminum foil locks but consider them all locked.

Great blog by the way!!!
