So, I started out last night trying to recount the story of last week's return trip from Pigeon Forge, when we had a GPS malfunction, which lead to a self-control malfunction on MY part, which led to Handsome Hubby getting a ticket. And THAT led to my foul mood that night, which in turn led to some snarky comments by me on other blogs, which then got deleted, and so on and so on and blah, blah, blah... yeah, I know, just shut UP already. Anyway, it might have been at least a little funny.
BUT.. on the spur of the moment yesterday, we invited Bug Hunter's best buddy to spend the night after we got together with his family (hi, Jessica!) at the park. So, instead of writing my GPS/ticket/bad mood story, I've been practicing the art of ninja mom.. invisible watchfulness. And, we had to clean out the treehouse, because that's where they wanted to sleep last night. Across the creek. 20 feet up in the air. In the woods. In the dark. I honestly thought they'd come stumbling in sometime during the middle of the night (if they didn't break their necks going down the treehouse stairs in the dark), so I didn't sleep well. But they made it til 7:30 (oh, glory! They did NOT get up at "the buttcrack of dawn", as Jessica so delicately puts it..and why is it that the word "butt" is figuring so prominently in my blog lately?). They've been playing well together, with Bakugan trading and Star Wars posturing and Lego building and then, well, this:

and another view:

I suppose "Indiana ChAce" would term it an unfortunate series of events. And the culprits:

It's a true story that is still unfolding; who knows what may happen next? Uh oh, I need to go. I sense a disturbance in the force. You're now released to go to Rachel and Mr. Daddy's Once Upon a Miracle for more true (and sometimes truly disturbing) stories. I need to go rescue a gecko!

Hahaha!
I love the lizard's stylish new hat!
Not just any reptile could pull off that look, but he really makes it look good! ;)
Well, I can certainly see the influence of your birthday trip to the Wild Wild West (is Tennessee out West?). A gecko with a cowboy hat.
What do cowboy geckos ride? Or do they just do their own version of a short gallop?
Well, Sue, he was actually supposed to be Indiana Jones, and I was afraid that they would stage the boulder scene and I'd find a gecko pancake. But when I went back upstairs, he had morphed from Indiana ChAce to "The Beast", and he was threatening a battalion of Star Wars clone troopers. Poor ChAce.....
OMG- at first I thought that was just a rubber toy. Until I saw the next picture that is. Yikes! You own something like that?
LOL, love the lizard pictures, although he looks a wee bit perturbed. Dying to hear the GPS story.
Thank you so much for having my boy over yesterday/today. I love the picture of Chace!! Steven was extremely proud when I saw the picture. I am now waiting for him to start dressing up the cats =) Love the picture of the two together.
Very few lizards know how to accessorize :)
Okay, I am curious about the GPS stuff! Back in the 'good old days' when you were lost you were lost! LOL We don't have GPS in any of our vehicles (I know, we are dinosaurs) but from all the horror stories I have heard, I am not sure we are missing out on anything! lol
The Geiko Gekko (sp?) could take fashion tips from your little guy!
You should photoshop in a whip! hee:-) Those boys look very proud. Cute!
is that lizard gay????
Oh nice. Amy, the whip WOULD have been a cute idea until Mr. Daddy's comment. Now? Not so much.
That totally explains the foul mood...well earned!
A good friend is a true gem. Glad your bug catcher is enjoying his.
That pix of the critter with the hat is so funny. Love it.
But my favorite is the two buddies at the bottom!
Just had to come on over and see why exactly the words "lizard's sexual orientation" found their way onto my blog comments. Cuz that kinda confused me for a bit there... not hard to do.
Toooooo funny. At the very least, he's a dapper little guy. Possibly a bit metrosexual, but hey, he gets a whole new epidermis every so often, so what's not to like? :)
And I'm waiting on the GPS story too :)
Very cool hat, lol
He is so styling in that hat! And looks like he don't seem to mind having it on either....Wow, the kids slept in the tree house all night...that is great.
pam
Oh, I just ADORE the gecko : ) And all dressed for a night out too. Sweet! I also love your new picture that pops up when you leave comments. So cute. So, so cute!
Lizard/gecko...sorry, Pam, but I don't do reptiles! You are one brave woman! With those two boys around, you just might want to sleep with one eye open!
Never a dull moment in your neck of the woods - by the creek (or up in the trees!) - so glad you share just a glimpse with all of us in blogland!! So much fun...and I can admire the geckos and other critters from a distance! oh my.
