A Different Twist on Nostalgia

Howdy to anyone out there who still checks on this poor, neglected blog. No True Story Tuesdays, no I Heart Faces, no nothin' lately. That would be because school is back in session and I've decided to see if I can actually, literally KILL myself with volunteering. Not really, but sometimes, it feels like it. For me to not enter I Heart Faces is a sure sign that I'm either busier than a one-armed paper hanger OR the end is near. The theme this week is nostalgia, and I just don't have time to set up a photo and try to come up with something. BUT, my cousin Susie sent me the link to a YouTube video of her daughter, Mackinlee, who did a very cool photoshoot. Mac looks just like her grandmother (my Aunt Betty Lou) in the pics in this video; as I told Susie in an email, it's cool and eerie at the same time. So even though these aren't my pictures and I can't enter the contest, I CAN show you what my version of nostalgia is. After many years of not seeing Aunt Betty Lou, I had been able to visit with her several times at my mom's. And then, she got a computer and we became IM buddies. She passed away several years ago; I miss ABL, as I called her, and to see her so clearly in the face of her granddaughter just warms my heart and makes me smile (through a few tears). Isn't she gorgeous? Just cracks me up when her braces peek through, though; when you see the stills, she looks like she's 25 at least! Not so much... she's a teen. And from the looks of that video, I'd say the world is her oyster!
