Time for a little magic...

Guess where we're going next week?

Yep, Disney World! It's been almost five years since we last went, and Adam was five. It was fun, but there were a lot of things that he just didn't "get". It should be an entirely different experience this time (and warm.. it will be warm!). I went back through my pictures from the last visit and just had to laugh at how little Adam was, and how everything we did was driven by the need to catch bugs and lizards. We didn't even try Epcot back then; somehow, I think it will be the highlight of the trip this year. Well, other than the plane ride; he is totally stoked about that part! Here are a few memories from 2005:

The captain of the plane offered to let Adam into the cockpit, but he was too shy to go; this time, he'd jump at the offer and probably try to fly the plane!

Last time we did "Breakfast with Pooh and Friends", and they were the ONLY characters that Adam would even get near. I bought a Disney autograph book, and they are the only characters that signed it. Maybe I'll dig it up and see if we can add to it this time.

I think we may have taken this picture as a reminder: do not buy a balloon until you are leaving the park! Keeping up with the floating Mickey might have been a bit of a pain, at least according to Adam's expression.

This was about the biggest ride that Adam would venture on in 2005. Betting that he'll be all over Space Mountain and the other big rides this time around!

I'm glad I got this picture on the carousel, because I doubt he'll get on this one now.

We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside in 2005; this time, we aren't staying at a Disney resort. I'll update with how that worked out for us when we get back.

OK, some things never change. I imagine that more than a few Mickey bars will be consumed while we're there!

This is the boy who never runs out of steam. I can count on one hand (with fingers left over) the times he ever fell asleep in his carseat. But Disney? Wore. him. out. We'll see if he can go the distance this year (or, maybe, there will be a pic of ME like this ... it could happen!)

Any Disney fans out there? Any good advice or travel tips (especially for flying; I don't think any of us has been on an airplane since then!) I hope that all of you have a magical week!

Oh wow! I hope you have a blast! We went last September for eight days and it took me two weeks to post all of the pictures and blog about how much fun that we had! It will be a totally different experience for you this time with your son being older. But he will still love it. :)

Oh yeah, we learned that one too: You NEVER buy the balloon til you're headin' back out to the car :)

Enjoy!

Oh, I had to chuckle at the balloon photo!! We've made mistakes like that before and you're almost ready to give away that item that they just could not live without before you are done for the day!

Disney now has the option to take a ticket and then go back to the ride at a set time for a shorter wait - Disney's "Fast Pass." SO WORTH IT!! Also you can go on line and see how busy the park is and their trends on what parts of the park are busy when - also a time saver.

We've never stayed on property - I've always wanted to with the extended hours, etc. I'll be interested to know what you thought!

I hope you HAVE A BLAST!!! Enjoy the warmth and send some of it our way would ya?! We're freezing here in VA!

Much love!

Pam! I am so excited for you! I hope you are having the most wonderful time! I missed you this week! And now I know where you are! I can't wait to hear about your adventures.

We didn't go until my Senior year in high school. It was awesome. My parents saved up so many years to take us. It will always be a very special memory!

Much love! XO
