I've gone for over 20 years without a salon cut; partially because I'm cheap, but mainly because I've been burned more often than not with bad haircuts (and perms... oh, the shame!). But I met the SWEETEST woman at carline at the bug hunter's school, and she works at a spa that just opened in my area (http://www.medalyn.com/). I finally decided that if the rest of the folks there were even half as nice as Amy, then I had to give it a try. So today, I did it; I got a cut and highlights. And you know what? I think I just may go back!

We too live on a creek...peaceful and fun. :) I am too cheap for the salon! I go to WalMart or the Perfect Look - but usually get a decent haircut. :)
great hair! i love it! and i'm the same.. i've finally found someone this year that i don't mind the cut from but i've been known to give myself my own hair cuts more often than not!
