Why Did We Buy This?

It is always a much more interesting trip to the grocery when the bug hunter is with me. There are a hundred things past which I normally walk, never giving them a first glance, much less a second. But HE sees them, and they become something totally different. A bin of chayote squash becomes a pod of strange creatures who have all just swallowed tart Granny Smith apples and have puckered-up mouths. And even though I have absolutely no idea what to do with a chayote squash besides take pictures of it, we are now the proud owners of our very own pucker-mouthed Granny Smith apple-eating creature!

How cool is that? I've never heard of a chayote squash. What in the world do you do with it? Eat it, I guess??? It does have sort of a puckered face on it.

Have a good evening Pam!
