... that about 9 hours after taking this photo, I'd call home and find out that THIS boy had thrown up everything he'd eaten for Thanksgiving and was lying in bed feeling like the wrong end of a turkey? Me, either! The bug hunter and his dad left to pick up Grandaddy and head up to the uncle's house for Thanksgiving shortly after this picture was taken. I headed north, to spend the holiday with my mom. I PLANNED to sleep in on Friday, have a nice, LATE breakfast with Mom, and then head back. But, when I called Thursday evening to say goodnight to the bug hunter, Dad informed me that he has lost his entire meal.. onto the hall carpet. Yay. Yippee. And he felt yucky and wanted me to come home right then, and I would have. Except that I would have been travelling alone until past midnight, and neither his dad nor I felt real good about that fact. So, I woke up at 6:30 CST on Friday, got dressed, drank some coffee and chatted with my mom, and headed south. I made it home shortly after noon. The bug hunter was in bed, after running a temperature of 102; the shades were down, he had a cold rag on his head, and he was sleeping. Less than an hour later, he woke up as I was stroking his hair, and within a few minutes, he was up and running around. Playing with the dog. Watching TV. Eating. Fever? WHAT fever? Sheesh, I COULD have slept in! Oh well, I'm thankful that he is fine. I'm also thankful that my dear hubby rented a rug cleaner and is cleaning the hall carpet even as I type. And I'm wondering if I'll EVER get to spend more than one night away from home without the bug hunter, and without drama.
