WFW-The work of his hands

My bug-huntin' boy has taken a shine to honing his culinary skills, so the new cookbook he got for his birthday was a real hit. Created by kids, for kids, it provides a simple guideline for joy in the kitchen. But even as he uses this book to make good use of his hands, I never want him to put it or anything else above THE Book, whose guidelines will make great use of his heart.

For more Word-filled posts, be sure to stop by the 100 Acre Woods to see what Amy Deanne and the rest of WFW gang have come up with. You'll be inspired... I promise!

My kids LOVE to cook. I really need to just set aside a day of the week where they take turns "making dinner" with me...I keep thinking about it, your post just prompted be to get to the "doing" instead of "thinking!"

Pam, that is so cute. He did a great job. Love the smile. Caleb use to love to cook and clean but now he loves to play games on the computer more. But before he hit 8 yrs. of age he loved helping Nana and doing things like this. He is great with making salads...and loves to eat them. Keep up the great work Adam.

I absolutely LOVE this Scripture and this photo. My youngest son loves to cook and is in the kitchen with me all the time. I am making a book of Scriptures using their photos to give them for Christmas. I need to borrow this idea for his book.

Those concoctions look amazing! I wonder if they can be modified to fit the African context...that's my big challenge with cooking out here in Uganda. Just yesterday I felt God nudging me to intentionally pass on more skills to my kids...you've inspired me to get them in the kitchen! Thanks!

What a cutie! I'm so glad he's learning to cook. Kristyn really enjoyed it when she was a child and still does at 24. I'm glad I gave her freedom (to an extent) in the kitchen from a young age. Happy Word-Filled Wednesday!

Are those pigs in a blanket?? They look too cute. My Tyler loved being in the kitchen - and dreamed of opening his own restaurant one day - and he would have had fun with that new cookbook, too! I bet they were yummy!!

I always thought that teaching a guy to cook may have saved many from rushing into marriage just for someone to care for them.
Not sure if there are facts to fit my theory.......
But you are right....that is one useful book....Only ONE BOOK is essential.

That is so awsome!!! My three year old will some days choose to watch the cooking network over cartoons and has done that ever since he could say "Ray Ray" (Rachel Ray):)His favorite meal to make is macaroni and cheese of course. Love the Scripture!!!
