Growing up in Nashville, I had a healthy dose of country music on my plate from a very early age (like, in the womb). My mother was actually chosen as WENO radio's "Housewife of the Week" once; I believe it might have been the greatest week of her life. She got some albums, and a fruit basket, and I'm sure there were other things as well. I do remember that the apples were tasty. Moving right along, and hopefully back onto the tracks on which THIS train is supposed to be running, one of my favorite country artists, back in the day, was a gentleman named Tom T. Hall. He was kind and gentle, and his songs were always nice. One of his big hits was called "I Love", and it went like this:
I love little baby ducks, old pick-up trucks, slow-moving trains, and rain
I love little country streams, sleep without dreams, sunday school in may,
And hay
And i love you too
I love leaves in the wind, pictures of my friends, birds in the world, and squirrels
I love coffee in a cup, little fuzzy pups, bourbon in a glass, and grass and i love you too
I love honest open smiles, kisses from a child, tomatoes on the vine, and onions
I love winners when they cry, losers when they try, music when it's good, and life
And i love you too.
Elaine, over at Matters of the Heart is having a "Love Fest" contest to celebrate her 200th post. She'd like you to leave a comment naming something that you love; she's going to try and compile a list of 200 things based on the comments. What a great way to celebrate 200 posts! I left my message, and one thing that I'd LOVE is for you to go leave one. Oh, and you can leave one here, as well, cause I'd like to know what you love, too.
As for me? Well, I love God, and I love the gift of His Son and His Word. I love my husband, who means so much to me in so many ways. I love my bug hunter, who is the heart outside of my body. I love my mom, and my brother, and my husband's family, too. I love my friends, both old and new. I love my country and the people who sacrifice in order to defend my freedom. I love horses.. and dogs.. and cats. I love the smell of spring, the crisp air and blue skies of fall, the lazy days of summer, and even the (tiny bit of)snow we get in the winter. I love to hear the scream of a hawk, the whooo hooo of the owl on the other side of the creek, and just the babble of the creek itself. I love warm cookies, and cold milk. And I love being able to blog, because writing is more important to me than I think I realized. How about you? What do YOU love?

Such a sweet post, I have always liked that song.
I love this post. Spreading the love was just what I had in mind. There are so many things going on, for so many right now, thought it would be good to concentrate on the positives. Thanks for spreading the love.
I added my list to Elaine's too! I ditto all of yours!
I enjoyed reading your "I love" list, Pam. We have a lot of things in common. I'll hop on over to Elaine's and make my contribution. Have a good one!
I absolutely "love" your list...I loved reading your post - and I like that green picture, as well. I did check out the conference, too. Thanks for the info...
I love my kids, my grandbabies Caleb and DJ, my silly dog, Dakota, my brothers and their families, my Mom which would be the normal for most people...then for the not so normal...I love the movie the Wizard of Oz for the kid it allows me to be from time to time, I love hot air balloons and clowns. I love spring evenings when the night has just a touch of coolness to it....and I love all my friends!
I love knowing that whenever I turn your blog, I will find sweet wisdom sprinkled with delicious insight, founded in profound faith. I love waking each day knowing there are new mercies awaiting. I love being privileged to be surrounded by God's grace and favor, knowing I have to do absolutely nothing to earn or deserve it. I love the quiet, still voice of the Holy Spirit prompting me toward the right direction. I love that life with challenges is really life with opportunities to grow deeper in my faith, wiser in my perspective, and richer in my experiences. I love that I am never to old to love, to feel gratitude, to learn, to grow, to receive, to give, to give Him the glory. I love that in the tapestry of life there are threads of familiarity that allows friendships among strangers such as you and me. And I love that I could go on forever listing what I love...but it IS your blog, not mine. So, I'll just say that I love God, and I am pretty blown away by His creations.
Especially you.

Hmmm, what I don't love is not taking the time to reread what I have posted on your blog until AFTER I post it...and then find ing three, count them three, errors, including spelling (too), omissions (turn TO your blog), and subject verb disagreement (threads allow)!!!!
But, I do love that after writing all of the above, I am now in a place to let go of the fact that I am imperfect. After a lifetime of wrestling with that truth, I now can truly let go of things like that because more fully understand WHO really is perfect.
