When the bug hunter was 5, we "did Disney" for a week. We stayed at a resort in the park, we had passes, and we went near the end of May, when the "big" kids were still in school. No lines, perfect weather; it was a truly lovely trip. And this moment? Probably the only time the boy has fallen asleep in our arms. This is the child who did not sleep in his carseat, even on the longest trip. He simply would not fall asleep unless he was in a bed and knew it was TIME to sleep. But he was so worn out after a full day at Magic Kingdom that he fell asleep in his daddy's arms.
This is how I imagine God wanting US to feel in HIS arms, when times are troubled and we are afraid. He will protect us, and when we are weary, we can rest. Casting our cares on Him, letting Him carry us.. we can put our head on His great big shoulder, close our eyes, and sleep. And we can KNOW, without doubt, that He's GOT us, and He will NEVER let us go.
For more Word filled posts, make your way over to Amy's place at the 160 acre Woods. I love this community of people who love the Lord and love to illustrate His Word with their pictures. I know you will, too. Blessings and peace... may you rest in His arms.

BEAUTIFUL!!
I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate you. God has sent me some really amazing ladies to encourage me and I'm blessed to call you friend! I may not always be able to comment, but I ALWAYS read! And wordpress may not allow me to follow, but I follow through Bloglines. ;)
WONDERFUL and encouraging post! Loved it!
So sweet. What a great post!! I always love reading your blog.
Another anointed post, Pam. Your observations of life and your ability to connect everything back to God (the starter of all life!) is truly refreshing.
In a world where many people are spinning their wheels trying to keep up with their lives (and manage them, and get ahead of themselves...you get the picture), you serve as a gentle guide back to what is truly important.

What a great pictoral analogy!
Perfect. Love the pic also.
Pam, thank you for the very beautiful guest book entry on my CB page today. I treasure your words and the gift of your friendship.
Now, as your friend, I get to be a little more direct with you, right? (I know, you're thinking to yourself, "What have I gotten myself into??") If you think for one minute I am going to believe that you would EVER, no matter the challenges, yell at puppies and small children, then apparently your greatest challenge is knowing who you are! And I know you do know because everything you express relates gratitude for being a child of God. (And if you only knew how many times I HAVE yelled...well, I'll wait until our friendship has a little more time!)
The thought of you, the same person who takes photos of her son rolling in mud because he is "washable," who delights in early morning walks through rock and water and twists and turns on the day she wanted to sleep in, and who writes such wonderful guest book messages to people she has never met...the thought of that particular Girl Scout Caramel deLite being anything but delectable and deliciously wonderful is simply not in keeping with His Truth.
Thanks so much for everything you are. And in time I know I will forgive you and Pam E for going to dinner with the Smith family without me. Sigh.
Disney will do that to a person, for sure! There is just something so sweet about a child or babe asleep in his daddy's arms!! I love it........
Lovely! An encouraging word. Your son looks soooo sleepy. :~D
What a sweet, sweet picture and a beautiful post. Loved it! :)
