We Interrupt This Program....

Well, I had planned to do a post today about spring break, which was incredibly busy and a lot of fun. I have pictures to load, things to write.. but not quite yet. Apparently, a "rare weather event" has struck the area, and we had winds through here exceeding 55 mph a couple of hours ago. We still have power, but many around us do not. We do, however, have a VERY large tree that was uprooted and is leaning across the driveway, held in place by another (smaller) tree. There are four trees down in the yard next door, but nothing hit either of our houses. The wind is over for now, and I don't think we'll get anything else quite as strong, but the ground is saturated, the tree roots are shrunken from the long drought, and things are just a poppin' around here. So, I need to go... just wanted you to know that I'm back and will be back to blogging soon. For now, here are a couple of pictures from this morning:

Here's the tree leaning across the driveway

Here's a shot of our "little house in the BIG woods". See why I don't like the wind?

Good Lord Pam. I know how scary those trees coming down can be (see my post right around Christmas when a tree missed my GRANDMA by mere feet). So glad you are all safe in your little house in the big woods (which looks lovely, by the way).

Your new layout is super-cute :)

So glad you're back! Stay safe!

Oh, my goodness, Pam! Glad to know that no one got hurt AND that you still have power! We had terrible winds here, too! I thought my little spindly dogwood was going to break in two, but it's holding strong!

I'll be anxious to hear all about your Spring Break! Love your new blog design!

Glad you are okay. We have been having to same issues here. A couple weeks ago a tornado hit the Donelson area, then Friday (Good Friday) several hit Murfreesboro tearing that place apart. A mother and 3month old baby were lost to that one. Today, tornado warnings out again till this evening. Mother Nature is messing with us all.

I'm really glad that your home and your family are safe. I am curious, though. If you decide you have to live by a creek, in a house in the woods, wouldn't one think to pick a woods made of STURDY trees and GIANT roots! (I know you know me, but your readers will think I am some callous cow for writing that...and,yet, still I write it!)? :>)

Can't wait to hear about your trip, especially seen through your wise and witty observations. So glad you had a great time. And I hope your Easter and Holy Week were fulfilling and meaningful to you as you walked in the love of the Lord.
