About a week ago, my bloggy friend Shanda at A Teachable Heart tagged me AND gave me an award, and I've not been able to respond til now. After wrapping up the end of the year at Bug Hunter's school on Thursday, I plunged into prep for Cub Scout day camp, which started today. I've been a little busy; we've met every day to get things ready for 217 Cub Scouts, their siblings who are Pixies, the Den Chiefs (Boy Scouts) who help, and all of the adult volunteers. I'm not quite sure how many people we have on campus during the day, but I know it's over 300, and possibly closer to 400. It's bustling, to say the least, and my friend Stacey and I have our hands full making sure that our four craft rooms are stocked and ready for our Scouts to make puppets, and copper rubbings, and Jacob's Ladders, and Chivalry Scrolls, and shields, and ... well, you get the picture. I've been busy. REAL busy.
So, I missed the "Blogger Appreciation Week" tag, but I definitely do appreciate blogland and all of the friends I've met here. But the really exciting thing for me is that Shanda gave me an award! It's the Golden Heart Award, and it's beautiful; see?
Now I get to pass along this award to five others that have touched my life and encouraged me in some way. I get to encourage them as they have encouraged me. I hope that you will visit them and leave them a comment to let them know you were there.
If you receive this award and decide to accept, it's your turn now. You get to choose 5 blogging friends that you would like to pass the "Golden Heart Award" along to. Post this in a blog and make sure you add the heart photo in it. Then, notify those you have selected that you have nominated them. Ask your readers to check out their sites, leave a comment and if they like what they read become a follower!
Here are my five choices for The Golden Heart award:
1. Elaine at Matters of the Heart; I suppose you could call her blog "Matters of the Golden Heart", because hers certainly is! And, she takes pictures that make me drool with envy. (nice.. I know..)
2. Pam at You're Gonna Miss This; she is so transparent in her struggles and the resolution that God provides; I would have HATED to miss HER golden heart!
3. Rachel at Once Upon a Miracle : I can honestly go from laughter to tears and back again in 60 seconds flat. Rachel is a treasure....
4. Tonya at Safe In His Arms ; her walk with God is such an inspiration, but I also love her sense of humor and the fact that she lets her boys be.. well, boys!
5. Drew at Happy Chaos ; I "met" her at I Heart Faces, and I love her blog, her photos, and definitely her golden heart!
There are so, so many others that I could choose... but I'll keep it to five since that's the rule. Please visit their blogs, leave them a comment, and quite possibly you'll find that they'll be YOUR new friends, too!

Aw! Thanks so much! I'm not sure if I have a golden heart...maybe silver or perhaps rusty metal. Ha! I always enjoy your visits. Seems like our boys have a lot in common! (Bugs, mud, you name it!) I always enjoy reading your stories...in fact, I just spied a humongous bug on a post below. It's lightning like crazy here, so I'm going to try to read that post before we inevitably lose power!
Congrats on your award dear.
Thank you!! And I have to say you deserve this award too!! what a great friend you are!! (with such a great name!!)
And after deleting a really nasty (anynomous of course) comment on my blog this morning, I really needed to hear this today!! Thank you so much!!
Wow...you have been keeping busy! Congrats on your award...you deserve it, as always! You've been some great ones to pass it on to! Hope your Tuesday is blessed!
So glad you were able to get everything to work!!
Blessings to you today sweet friend! You are a treasure.
Speaking on behalf of the multitudes (of us) who have NOT received this award, I would like to congratulate you. Yes, you certainly deserve to be a recipient. Your posts are awesome in their diversity, wondrous in their clarity, and brilliant in their honesty. At the foundation of each and every entry is the sharing of your wonderful heart...as your words touch the hearts of many others.
Good job, my friend. Good job indeed.
Awww, I have to say you are completely worthy of this award. You have the biggest heart, and it is so amazing to be a part of the encouragement and love you have for our creator.
Thank you so much for passing it on, that means so much to me.
Sounds like you are busy. What a great thing you are doing for all these kids. An amazing servants heart too.
Have a blessed day.
Congrats on you award! You deserve it!
Busy, busy, busy...I understand that one also. Always so much to do...esp. when you have a little one. You notice I have not been blogging....like you, busy, busy, and more busy! Hang in there.
Your abilities at organization truly amaze me. I would take a look at the line up of you all have to do for the camp and burst into tears. And suck my thumb! And eat chocolate! In the fetal position!
I hugely admire you (and your oganizational co-horts) for what you are able to pull off. Hooray for you!
Pam, CONGRATS on the award and THANKS SO MUCH for sharing it with me. You are SO VERY PRECIOUS and I've just been BLESSED beyond measure by getting to know you.
Now, I'm SOOO SORRY it's taken me so long to swing by and 'pick it up'. ☺ We've started trying to garden (in-between heavy rains), and have had all sorts of other things going. I know you know how it is. ☺
At any rate.. I DO APPRECIATE YOU, and again I want to say THANKS for the award.
I ♥ YOU BUNCHES!
very cool!
You do have a golden heart Pam. A beautiful golden heart!
