I Heart Faces--Week 15--Self Portrait

The photo challenge for the week at I Heart Faces is a self portrait, which is to be taken by the submitter, OF the submitter, without the use of a tripod or self-timer and MUST be of the face (do I get bonus points for the longest run on sentence in the contest? and did they somehow know about my penchant for taking pictures of my feet in lieu of any other part of myself when they put that last part in? Oh, wait, it IS called I Heart Faces, isn't it?). I've never been good at the long-arm shot, nor am I photogenic(other than, perhaps, my feet), so I really should just skip this week. But, I wanted to put my own little spin on things, so here goes. I do think I deserve props for giving myself bunny ears while taking a long arm shot; who knew I had mad long-arm skilz? I'm sure there are some GOOD self portraits entered in the contest, so go check out everyone else's entry (and try to erase the enormity of my wrinkles from your memory; this may prove to be a very expensive contest. It's hard to stay in denial when looking at that picture; I sense either Botox and collagen OR a move to some career that will allow me to wear a full face-mask in my near future.) Looking forward to future weeks, when I can just stay BEHIND the camera, where I belong!

Can I just say that I think you are a-dor-able?!?! And I am so stinkin' glad you posted a picture of yourself this week (since it only took a whole theme from IheartFaces that wouldn't let you get away with a footsie shot!)

I have no clue how I'll get the self-portrait in, except that it might be one of those muddy ones I've already posted, LOL.

I LOVE the bunny ears. You are too cute, my friend!

My son does that in every picture!! They can't say you don't have a sense of humor!

I was cracking up reading your post...you are hysterical!

I am very impressed by the dual holding the camera with one hand while giving yourself bunny ears with the other. You are so talented! :)

Super-fun entry...I love it!

You are cracking me up. I loved that picture and yes you do get extra points for the bunny ears. I can barely hold the camera steady on myself much less use the other hand for something else.

You have beautiful eyes, my wonderful bloggy friend. I saw that photo and I felt like I have always known you....

LOL on this becoming an expensive challenge!!! I was thinking after looking at my self-portrait that I need a good chemical peel or something. And an eye lift. I definitely give you bonus points for managing to take such a great and clear photo while simultaneously reaching in the opposite direction to give yourself bunny ears. You are talented girl!

Pam,
For me, this week's contest was the hardest because I DO NOT like being in front of the camera! Never have and probably never will! However, I decided to step up to the challenge and give it a shot. I ended up taking tons of pictures because the angle was all wrong, it was too close or far away, or I cut off half my face! Talk about getting frustrated! LOL!

I think your picture is beautiful! Hold your head up high, my friend! I'd give anything to have eyes like yours!

You have great balance, camera in one hand, bunny ears in the other ... were you standing on one leg?? You look terrific.

Wow. So you are human? You can self-efface with the best of us! Okay, now that I know that, I have only one thing to say...

Quit it!

It isn't nice to judge your face without taking into account all that makes you you. You are beautiful. But, If you were merely a face I would leave you alone. But you are a heart, and a soul, and a spirit, and hands and feet that move you forward in life as you embrace it. And you are a tongue that speaks such beautiful truth (about others, at least) and reminds us what is important. And you are a mind/intellect that points out the deeper aspect of seemingly surface things...like bumper stickers and the dissection of the word comfortable.

You are Pam. And you are very brave...oh, not for taking a self portrait but for taking a self portrait and then diminishing it publicly...where we can admonish you.

You are brave for showing us you are human.

Now quit it.

I have come back to make a comment. Last night when I saw your photo I decided to wait and compose myself first. I want to be your friend! I like your face, your humor and your penchant for foot pictures( I have a whole folder of feet pictures!)
Sorry- I tend to make quick assessments in making friends- and I didn't want to gush at you at midnight. I'm glad to have met you on the internet. Thanks for posting your picture!

You definitely get props for the bunny ears (as well as the photo! I don't know if I could take a self portrait that way.) I can definitely understand more and more each year why my mom didn't enjoy being photographed...somehow I still picture myself as being in my 20's...until I see a photo of myself...then reality hits. But I do praise God that I have laugh lines! ;)

Great self portrait! And the bunny ears really add to it...there is talent there.
I do prefer to be behind the camera. We are at that age now where we are looking our age! YIKES!

Somehow wrinkles snuck into my photo too - and I surly do not know where they came from! Love the ears - I have a daughter that does that exact same pose :)

Great picture! I love the colors! And I couldn't see a wrinkle with my magnifiying (however that word is spelled) glass. But I do have one question about your picture. Is that bunny ears in the background?
